The Contemporary Austin offers diverse, engaging ways to explore contemporary art and culture, including innovative opportunities and experiences for families, young people, artists, and educators.
The school offers classes for ages three through adult in painting, drawing, wheel throwing (pottery), photography, collage, mosaics, watercolor, pastels, jewelry, glass, metal, digital media and more.

Every second Saturday of the month, The Contemporary Austin offers hands-on art-making workshops at Laguna Gloria, inspired by the exhibitions on view. Join us between 11A–3P to see family-friendly performances, meet local artists, and make art to take home. Recommended for ages 2–11.

A Contemporary Petting Zoo
Snort, baa, quack! Let your senses guide you as you meet real potbelly pigs, goats, and other mini creatures, then make your own animalistic art to take home. Inspired by Pet Sounds, artist Charles Long’s colorful interactive installation named for the 1966 Beach Boys album, on view now at Laguna Gloria.
