Ceramics: Slip Casting and Mold Making

Adults

Experience the amazing world of slip-cast ceramics. Whether your interest lies in functional or sculptural clay, slip casting will open you to a new range of possibilities. Gain the experience of creating your own one- and two-part plaster molds, make and pour porcelain slip, then cast and attach parts to create either multiples or one-of-a-kind finished pieces. Collaborate with other students and the instructor to push your work in new directions. Discussions and image presentations will inform and inspire you as we explore how contemporary artists are using slip-cast ceramics to create innovative works of art.
