Rooted in the Dadaist movements of the early 20th century but primarily taking shape in the last 50 years, performance art is a live, ephemeral, and often controversial art form. We’ll discuss the differences between theatrical performance and performance art, develop our own performance pieces, and discuss important performance artists including Marina Abramović, Yoko Ono, and Janine Antoni. *Note: Some of the subject matter in this class is better suited to more mature teens. Please call the registration office if you have questions or concerns.
