Explore artists that weave humor, tragedy, politics, and history into compelling artworks with a storytelling component, including Elmgreen and Dragset, Ryan Gander, and other artists whose work is installed at Laguna Gloria. Use your own personal narrative to create a finished full-scale work, starting with the design and continuing through fabrication, finishing, and site placement. Use wood, steel, found objects, or kinetic parts to create your work and learn different finishing techniques for each. For beginners through advanced students.
All supplies provided! Please wear appropriate clothes for an art studio (dress for mess!). Close-toed shoes are required for wood, metal, stone, or other sculpture classes. Eye and ear protection is provided, but some students prefer to bring their own which you are welcome to do.
