For experienced throwers looking to approach specific forms more intensely, this series of two, four-week concentrations begins with the plate. Learn techniques on how to center with strategy versus strength and trim plates beautifully, and discover ways to measure for clay shrinkage to achieve predictable sizes and try out fun alternatives to typical round plates. Then, during the next four weeks, focus on how to add two thrown parts together to create taller and more expansive vessels, and discover clever ways to orient parts to create asymmetrical vases and bottles. Students must have completed at least one full wheel-throwing class to enroll in this series.
