In the realm of sculpture, material is everything. It informs the concept and constructs of dialogue that encompass the joy of art. Wood is a living material whereas metal is considered more industrial. In this class, we will combine these materials and transform how they are perceived, sometimes betraying preconceived notions of how they are viewed. You will learn proper tool usage, material attributes, and safe fabrication methods. No prior experience is necessary.
All supplies provided! Please wear appropriate clothes for an art studio (dress for mess!). Closed-toe shoes are required for wood, metal, stone, or other sculpture classes. Eye and ear protection is provided, but some students prefer to bring their own which you are welcome to do.
