Directions and Parking

We encourage the use of public transportation, and the Jones Center is conveniently located on a number of downtown bus routes. Plan your trip with Capital Metro. Bike-friendly routes can be viewed here.

Jones Center



The Jones Center is located at the corner of 7th Street and Congress Avenue in the heart of downtown Austin. Parking is available at paid street meters, as well as nearby commercial garages and lots. Two nearby options are: One American Center, 600 Congress Ave. (entrance off of 7th St. between Colorado and Congress); Omni Austin Hotel, Downtown Parking Garage, 700 San Jacinto Blvd. at 8th St. (entrance off Brazos and 8th St.). Laguna Gloria



From Mopac (Loop 1) head north from downtown. Exit at 35th Street and turn left (West). Follow 35th St. until it ends. You will pass Camp Mabry, Mayfield Park and Mt. Bonnell Road. The entrance is on the left at 3809 W. 35th St. Parking is available on the premises. There is also street parking along 35th St.

Visiting Tips

  • Help us keep the artwork and galleries safe! Please do not touch the artwork unless it is labeled as an interactive piece.
  • Food and drink are not permitted in the Jones Center or Laguna Gloria galleries. Visitors are welcome to enjoy food and drink responsibly on the Laguna Gloria grounds. Please keep our facilities clean and dispose of trash and recycling in the containers provided.
  • Photography without a flash, for personal use only, is permitted at the Jones Center and Laguna Gloria, unless specified for individual artworks. Please use caution and be aware of all artwork around you when photographing in the galleries. Please contact our PR & Marketing Manager, Nicole Chism Griffin, at for professional photography requests.
  • Service animals are welcome at the Jones Center and Laguna Gloria. Additionally, leashed pets may accompany guests on the Laguna Gloria grounds. Please be respectful of the wildlife and ecology of the site.
  • Concealed or open weapons and firearms (including handguns) are not allowed at the Jones Center, Laguna Gloria, or the Art School. Sharp implements are not permitted in the galleries.
  • All bags larger than 12 x 18 x 3 inches (including backpacks and large purses) and all umbrellas must be checked at the Reception Desk at the Jones Center. Please wear smaller bags and purses on your front or carry in your hand.
  • Drawing in the galleries is permitted using pencils only. No pens or markers are allowed in the galleries.
  • Smoking, including electronic cigarettes, is not permitted inside any of our buildings, or within 20 feet of a doorway or outdoor sculpture.
  • The Jones Center galleries and most of the Betty and Edward Marcus Sculpture Park at Laguna Gloria are stroller friendly and wheelchair accessible. Please use care when navigating the galleries. Depending on the fragility of artwork in an exhibition, oversize strollers may need to be stored at the Reception Desk. Please check in at the Reception Desk at both sites with questions or for assistance.
  • Additionally, staff at the Betty and Edward Marcus Sculpture Park at Laguna Gloria are available to assist with golf carts and wheelchairs for touring the grounds. Please contact us at 512 458 8191 with ADA or accessibility questions.


The Contemporary Austin offers age-appropriate, engaging, and interactive tours for a range of audiences with our friendly and knowledgeable docents. Spanish-language tours are also available. Please book your tour at least two weeks in advance during gallery hours or at

Jones Center

The Jones Center offers a vibrant downtown experience where visitors can investigate and experience contemporary art in a recently renovated historic building. Drop-in tours are available Tuesdays at 12P.

Laguna Gloria

Laguna Gloria offers a unique experience of history, art, and nature. Visitors may tour the Betty and Edward Marcus Sculpture Park's works on view and special exhibitions as well as the 1916 Italianate-style Driscoll Villa and historic gardens and grounds.
